Ain't it Mauve-o-lous
For those of us who have been in this industry for... well, a longer time than I would like to admit - we have come full circle. What is old is new again and again. I have heard Mauve is part of the color-trend forcast for 2010. After all, colors are cyclical. They come, they go, they are tweaked, updated, and given a new name.
What do you think about the reintroduction of Mauve into the design world? .

Oh Paula, please don't say that. Next you will talking avocado green. Let's give these colors new updated names. Something that sounds exciting when you hear it and make them feel they can't live without it in their homes.

Mauve....(shudder).... I don't know if this is going to fly for me. At least with things like avocado green, you get a vision of a really tasty, healthy salad or something, but Mauve....? Oy.

LOL, I have must have been in the business longer than you. I felt the same way when they started talking about how fresh earth colors were. My thought was "That is so 30 years ago" I got bored with them in the 70s and am bored with them again.

On March 11th I had the opportunity to attend the ADC Day of Design at the Arizona Design Center. Barbara Barry, a well-know interior and product designer was the keynote speaker.
Here is a Barbara Berry quote;
"If you can picture it, you can make it."
